Job Title: Structural Welder (Travel Role in Newport News, VA) Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Welder with four years of naval shipyard experience as a first-class welder. The ideal candidate will be proficient in various welding techniques including Pulse Arc Welding (GMAW-P), Stick Welding (SMAW), MIG Welding (GMAW), and Flux-Core Welding (FCAW). Responsibilities • Perform multi-pass, all-position fillet, and butt welds using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GMAW-P processes. • Execute welding tasks in a physically demanding environment including shipboard, sub-assemblies, ladders, and staging. • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations related to the shipbuilding industry. • Conduct Air Carbon Arc Gouging as needed. • Properly use fillet and butt weld gauges for accuracy. • Pass all position, multi-pass butt weld qualification tests as per MIL-STD-248D Paragraph 5.3.3. Essential Skills • Proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GMAW-P welding processes. • Experience in multi-pass, all-position welding. • Knowledge of OSHA regulations in the shipbuilding industry. • Skill in Air Carbon Arc Gouging. • Ability to use fillet and butt weld gauges accurately.
