As a Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components according to blueprints and specifications. Job Title: Welder Department: Fabrication / Manufacturing Reports To: Welding Supervisor or Office Manager Location: Freedom Marine & Industrial 2959 N Kerr Ave, Wilmington, NC 28405 Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our team. The Welder will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment using various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding. The ideal candidate will ensure the quality and safety of all welded components and meet production deadlines. Key Responsibilities: • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. • Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a welding procedure specification (WPS). • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead). • Inspect welds for accuracy and quality, and perform necessary repairs or corrections. • Operate tools such as grinders, cutting torches, and measuring instruments. • Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). • Maintain equipment and welding tools in good working order. • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time and according to specifications. Aluminum Welder/Fabricator

Cape Fear Catamarans, a custom aluminum boat builder, is looking for a aluminum welder and fabricator. You will be responsible for assisting existing welders and fabricators while you receive on the job training. The ideal candidate will have some aluminum welding experience and it is prefered. They will be able to follow instructions and work with little supervision. Attitude and ability to work within a team are extremely important. Responsibilities • As an entry level welder/fabricator, you'll be following the leader and assisting team members in ALL aspects of boat building. In addition to welding, you will be involved in all aspects of boat building. Experience: • Previous experience in a metal work shop as a Fabricator/Welder is preferred . • Any type of carpentry background is also preferential. • Ability to cut, shape and assemble small parts using various tools (e.g., saws, drills etc.)is preferred This position is M-Th 7:00-5:30. Pay is negotiable with experience. Attitude and eagerness to learn are the most important qualities for candidates to possess.
