Structural Welder

Position: STRUCTURAL WELDER Join to apply for the STRUCTURAL WELDER role at KEEL. Description Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process. Inspects completed welds to ensure structural soundness. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions, which typically do not require exercising independent judgment. Supervision: Works under immediate supervision and reports to a supervisor or manager. Education: May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with 0-5+ years of experience. May need to complete an apprenticeship or formal training in the area of specialty. Shifts: 1st or 2nd shift. Physical Tasks: Includes frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing, and working in confined spaces; occasional walking, crawling, climbing, reaching above shoulder, and operation of machinery; constant physical activity. Weld Instructor​/Testing

Position: WELD INSTRUCTOR/TESTING Description Weld Instructor/Testing will work with entry level to experienced level employees by providing effective instruction in the assigned educational areas of welding. Will perform a variety of routine duties, as needed, to teach and continually educated structural welding , fabrication, repair and maintenance which can include but not limited to FLUXCORE, MIG, TIG and Stick welding and other processes by using a variety of teaching methods such as mentoring, hands-on training, developing curriculum, workforce training and demonstrations ensuring that they gain the knowledge and skills that are required for their position. Areas of instruction include consumable and non-consumable electrode welding and cutting/grinding processes. Will maintain accurate records and reports and submit these in a timely manner to the appropriate person. Will measure, assess, and report on student learning outcomes. Will train employees on how to identify acceptable and unacceptable workmanship. Wedl Instructor/Testing must be able to administer all weld testing and be able to perform welds on various metal including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, pipe and plate. Demonstrates performance in Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding of Plate/Pipe (STICK), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FLUX), Pulse and Spray, Cutting processes (OFC/Plasma/Arc gouging), blueprint reading and welding symbols. Will administer structural fitter’s assessment to applicants as required. Familiarity with different types of welding equipment and material commonly used in the industry. Weld Instructor/Testing will possess strong personal and professional integrity, the ability to instruct, teach, plan and demonstrate welding technology techniques in a shop floor environment. Will be committed to professional development and employee success, possess creative critical thinking skills, works well with others in a team environment, good verbal and written communication skills, a solid commitment to safety, and the proper use of personal protective equipment. Demonstrates proficiency using MS Office Suite or related products, database systems, email and other computer applications associated with the position. Will also manage and promote a positive and engaging learning experience, provide support, tutoring and other assistance as needed. Will follow and enforce all company policies including safety rules and quality standards. Will provide re-training when necessary. Instructors are to “model” the professional behaviors, language, and activities expected of employees. Performs a variety of tasks in support of the company Quality Program. Requirements Supervision: Works under general supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Education: May require a high school diploma or equivalent and 2– 4 years of related experience. Teaching experience preferred in welding and must be able to weld. Knowledgeable in welding as evidenced by education and/or experience. Effective in directing and evaluating student learning and hands on performance and be prepared in education theory and techniques.
