Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Help prepare the lab for class by turning on exhaust fans, welding gasses shop/booth lights and unlock metal room doors. • Check stock of metal bins in the lab and restock as necessary. • Setup and breakdown welding process demonstration stations. • Sort scrap metal bins and recycle any reusable material. • Field phone calls received and relay information to appropriate staff. • Manage the tool crib by tracking tools provided to students. • Monitor and report on inventory levels of instructional supplies and tools housed in the tool crib. • Sanitize and maintain safety gear housed in tool crib. • Ensure booths are clean, safe and prepped with appropriate supplies needed for each process. • Check and maintain proper water level in quench tanks. • Clean and maintain fabrication/welding booth tables and surrounding area. • Replace welding gas cylinders when necessary. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Regular attendance on campus is required for this position. Related Duties: • Assist with promotional events and competitions. • Understand the department's course curriculum and objectives. Hours/Schedule: This position will work less than 20 hours per week with some varying hours-morning, afternoons, nights and weekends. Physical Demands: Capable of lifting and transporting at least 50 pounds.
