Job ID#214499 Pay Rate: $21 - $26/ Hourly Job Description: • Layout work requirements and obtain needed equipment to perform routine repair and alteration operations, inspect weld for bead sized and compliance with other specifications • Blend, grind, or polish weld ensuring specified minimum wall requirement is met • Work with Engineering on new R&D projects and working with Redline Drawings. • Proto type welding projects will be 50% of the job at times. • Use calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges to measure repaired part and ensure dimensional requirements are met. Complete production paperwork • Use and interpret complicated prints, drawings, and process sheets to perform a variety of layouts, as well as complete and sign work orders identifying the operations performed • Perform standard hand and machine welding operations to fabricate or restore parts and tools where close tolerances are not normally required, and specifically defined criteria are used. • Build up finished machined surfaces and repair simple cracks and other routine imperfections. Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results • Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of equipment used in performing the work as necessary. Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions such as an operator check list for upkeep and to assure equipment operates properly • Assist others with new process tryout, and other specialized assignments • This role will involve bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing Qualifications You Must Have: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent • 2+ years of TIG welding experience with stainless steel and Steel welding. • Welding Certificate Level 1 Welding (GTAW Stainless Steel), required. See More Details >>Main Job Duties and Responsibilities: -Ability to use handheld welding equipment such as welding clamps to weld or join metal components or seams of fabricated metal pieces. • Ability and knowledge in operating semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using a MIG weld and spot weld processes. • Responsible for thorough knowledge of appropriate safety practices; must wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies and practices. • Follows production schedules to meet work order delivery dates ensuring efficient use of labor. • Experience spot-welding various metals. • Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts to prevent warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of materials. • Responsible to examine work pieces for defects and ensuring a quality finished product that conforms to the customer’s specification. • Communicates daily with the Welding Lead important information such as: · Damaged or broken equipment · Progress · Production line speeds · Paperwork accuracy • Make sure that the assembly area is clean and organized, free from food, waste, trash, and any hazard that may cause an injury. • Must be able to rotate task as needed. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: · Ability to read, write, and speak English · Good math skills such as addition, subtraction, and counting · Ability to properly read a tape measure · Ability to read and understand blueprints, work instructions and other job-related materials · Good motor coordination · Understanding of ISO procedures and adherence to such procedures · Ability to lay-out, position, align and secure parts prior to weld assembly · Experience welding various sheet metal · Manual dexterity required for operating MIG gun and other tools, material types (mild steel) Ability to put down a good bead tie-in and make sure it is uniform.
