Job Summary: The Solar Installer Level 3 is responsible for supporting the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including both AC and DC components. This role involves working with a team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality installations in compliance with company policies and industry standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to grow in the renewable energy field. Key Responsibilities: ●Install rooftop and ground-mount solar PV systems, including flashing, racking, module-level power electronics, array wiring, and junction boxes. ●Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. ●Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans. ●Assist in troubleshooting AC & DC electrical systems, identifying faults, and determining equipment status. ●Connect solar panels to the power grid following local electrical codes. ●Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning modules and inverters. ●Maintain a clean job site and organized work truck. ●Assist the crew lead and electrician in completing installations. ●Load and unload equipment and materials from company vehicles. ●Communicate professionally with clients and address any concerns. ●Complete required safety certifications, including fall protection and electrical safety training. ●Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: ●High school diploma or equivalent required. ●Vocational or technical school training is preferred but not required. ●STT Card and OSHA Card are required. ●Certification from inverter/solar equipment manufacturers (any) is a plus. ●Ability to read and interpret building plans and technical documents. ●Proficiency in using hand and power tools for installation. ●Strong knowledge of PV equipment, troubleshooting, and installation processes. ●Understanding of electrical codes, ampacity of conductors, and the use of a Volt-Ohm meter and clamp-style ammeter. Requirements: ●Ability to work at great heights and in confined spaces such as attics. ●Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders.●Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time. ●Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high heat. ●Ability to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced work environment. Ameresco’s Operations & Maintenance Group has a new opportunity for a Solar Electrician in around the Binghamton, NY area performing Solar Operations and Maintenance on commercial solar projects. Pay rate for this role is $42-$50 per hour Responsibilities: • Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public. • Reads and interprets instruction manuals, blueprints and control system drawings; applies knowledge to daily tasks under the supervision of the Lead Electrician. • Completes written and electronic records (i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completed. • Repair, test, troubleshoot, inspect; and install, remove and maintain solar site equipment such as solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment. • Supervise and train apprentice electricians/coworkers to teach proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures. • Perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent experience in lieu of diploma required. • Minimum of 2 years experience of industrial solar electric/electronic maintenance experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and/or maintenance of related electrical/electronic equipment. • Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by state of residence.
