AutoCAD Designer (Civil, Structural or Solar)

Tectonic is currently seeking a full-time AutoCAD Designer with experience in civil, structural, or solar engineering design to join our multi-disciplined team in Newburgh, NY. As part of our team, you will play a key role in developing detailed designs for a variety of projects, collaborating with engineers and other technical team members, and contributing to the success of innovative and impactful projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to further their career in the A/E/C industry while working alongside experienced professionals in the field. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions of this position will include working with computer CADD systems creating, modifying, plotting, and releasing detailed layouts, technical drawings, and working drawings for functional use in accordance with CADD standards from existing drawings, sketches, scanned images, and client drawings. Essential functions also include communicating with project managers, engineers, and other CADD staff in order to create and revise drawings in accordance with project specifications. The Cadd Designer may also perform occasional site visits to obtain necessary specifications, including obtaining photographs, field measurements, and sketching, and will also print, copy, and organize CADD drawings as needed, as well as all other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS • 4-10 years of related engineering design work experience in civil, structural, and/or solar engineering design; • Associate’s Degree or CAD certificate in a related field is a plus; • Proficiency with AutoCAD 2024 or newer and detailing; Civil 3D experience strongly preferred; • Functional proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to utilize other software programs as needed; • Detail oriented, with excellent written and oral communication skills; • Requires a valid, acceptable driver’s license to perform site visits. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to assume a stationary position, handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials and/or equipment relevant to the job and communicate about same. The employee will also need to process manual and computer generated documents, and will be required to communicate using the Corporate e-mail and telephone systems. In accordance with the level of visual detail required for this position, close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for this position. They may be occasionally required to move around on a job-site, including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder, and positioning themselves appropriately to obtain necessary specifications. The employee may be occasionally required to lift and/or move equipment and materials up to 10 lbs.
