Summary Our company has an immediate opening for a skilled and dedicated Laborer - Construction in Vero Beach, Fl. The Laborer - Construction will perform basic labor tasks to assist with asphalt paving projects. This includes preparing surfaces and cleaning up job sites. This role requires physical labor, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions. The ideal candidate will be dependable, hardworking, and possess a commitment to quality workmanship. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites. • Operate various hand tools and equipment such as shovels, rakes, and tampers to spread, level, and smooth asphalt. • Work alongside equipment operators and other crew members to ensure proper application and compaction of asphalt. • Assist in loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment. • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe work environment for all team members. • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure project deadlines are met. • Adhere to all company policies and procedures. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Valid driver's license. • Previous experience in asphalt paving or related construction work is a plus but not required. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions. • Knowledge of basic construction techniques and tools. • Ability to follow and verbal instructions. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols. • Reliable transportation to job sites. • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical test and background check. • Shift: 7am-5pm - Varies - FLEXIBLE Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs as needed. • Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods. • Must have good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. • Capability to perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, and moving materials. • Must be able to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.). Work Environment: • Outdoor construction sites with exposure to various weather conditions. • Noise levels associated with heavy equipment operation. • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
