Department or Location: Maintenance Department Position Type Classified / Non-Contracted Job Title Brick Mason FLSA Status Non-Exempt Reports To Assistant Director of Non-Certified Trades Days Worked 235 Days (12 months) Job Qualifications Education: High School education or equivalent preferred. Certification or Licensure: Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Skills: Must have knowledge of carpentry and masonry tools. Must have leadership ability and good interpersonal skills. Work Experience: Prior on-the-job training or related experience in the field is preferred. Primary Duty This position is responsible for all basic framing, carpentry, tiling, and roofing throughout the school district. Essential Duties And Responsibilities • Repair, maintain, and construct projects as assigned by the construction foreman. • Lay brick, block, and tile. • Finish concrete. • Lay foundations. • Estimate materials and supplies for the job. • Select proper materials for the job. • The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee’s supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law board policy administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.
