Brick Mason

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry work, capable of building and restoring brick structures with precision and craftsmanship. This role requires proficiency in using hand tools and heavy equipment, as well as the ability to work effectively on various construction sites. The Brick Mason will play a crucial role in ensuring that all masonry tasks are completed to the highest standards. This is a travel job so you must be willing to travel during the week. We pay for your vehicle or vehicle allowance, all travel expenses and flights when needed. We do a lot of block and brick repair or alterations to commercial buildings. If you have additional skills such as cement, carpentry, etc., those are very helpful. Responsibilities • Construct, repair, and restore brick structures including walls, chimneys, and patios. • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on construction sites. • Utilize hand tools for cutting, shaping, and laying bricks. • Perform caulking and sealing to ensure durability and weather resistance of masonry work. • Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to integrate masonry with other building elements. • Finish concrete surfaces as needed to complement brickwork. • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety regulations. • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to execute projects accurately. Experience • Proven experience as a Brick Mason or in a similar role within the construction industry. • Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred but not mandatory. • Experience in welding is a plus for specific projects requiring metal integration. • Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques is beneficial for completing masonry tasks effectively. • Ability to work in various weather conditions while maintaining productivity on construction sites. • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality craftsmanship. Learn more at www.htsu.com Key Responsibilities • Install refractory products including fiber, castable, brick, and ram-based materials. • Remove existing refractory materials using chipping hammers, rivet busters, and other demolition tools. • Interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and work drawings. • Perform basic stick welding to install steel anchors. • Build forms and support structures for complex installations (arches, lintels, etc.). • Train and mentor apprentices or less experienced workers. • Follow all jobsite safety procedures and maintain organized workspaces. • Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to meet job requirements and timelines. • Travel extensively, including overnight assignments to customer facilities across the U.S. Qualifications • Minimum 5 years of experience in bricklaying, including industrial or commercial projects. • 3+ years of experience in construction projects (industrial construction preferred). • Hands-on experience installing refractory products is highly desirable. • Proficient in masonry methods, materials, and hand/power tools. • Ability to interpret construction plans and technical documentation. • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to craftsmanship. • Ability to multitask across multiple projects and remain flexible with changing site conditions. • Commitment to team work and working well both in solo and team environments. • Excellent physical stamina and hand-eye coordination. • Safety-focused and capable of adhering to OSHA standards. • Valid driver's license required. • Certification or formal training in masonry is a plus.
