Reports to Building Services Supervisor. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions: Performs masonry duties including tile and block installation and repair. Performs various other special maintenance tasks to assist supervisor and co-workers, including but not limited to, plastering and sanding drywall, painting, brick and fence repair, and general concrete work. Performs tasks in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, standards and schedules. Prepares and submits daily work report. Assembles scaffolding as needed up to 30 feet. Operates a variety of equipment, such as a two-way radio, masonry tools, drywall tools, painting tools, paint sprayer, power tools, hand tools, etc. Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals, such as the immediate supervisor, co-workers, District administrators and staff, students, etc. Additional Duties: Picks up supplies as needed. Performs related duties as required. Minimum Education and Training Requires a high school diploma supplemented by five years of experience in masonry or general facilities maintenance work, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must have a valid state driver's license. Minimum Qualifications and Standards Required Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment, including a two-way radio, hand and power tools, etc. Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work; work involves walking or standing for periods of time, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, climbing, etc., and performing manual tasks. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of up to 100 pounds and work at heights of up to 30 feet.
