Job Summary: The Utility Construction Worker is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground and above-ground utility infrastructure, including water, sewer, gas, and electrical systems. This position involves operating heavy equipment, performing manual labor, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications. Key Responsibilities Utility Installation & Maintenance: • Assist in the installation and repair of water, sewer, storm drainage, and other utility lines. • Lay pipes, set meters, and install utility connections according to project blueprints. • Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure proper function of utility systems. Construction & Site Work: • Perform grading, compaction, and backfilling operations if applicable. • Assist in road and sidewalk repairs following utility installations. • Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and vehicles used in utility construction. • Set up traffic control measures and work zone safety barriers as needed. Safety & Compliance: • Follow OSHA and company safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all job site safety requirements. • Ensure work complies with local, state, and federal regulations. • Assist in emergency utility repairs and response to service outages.
