Job Description The Construction Laborer will be part of a skilled workforce contributing to general construction requirements on a high-profile construction site in Lenoir, NC. This long-term project spans over two years and offers a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team. The Construction Laborer will perform various tasks involving physical labor at the construction project job sites. Responsibilities: • Review jobsite needs with supervisors and superintendents to comprehend scopes of work per plans and specifications. • Assist with jobsite cleanup, rough carpentry, site logistics, fencing, deck and platform building, protection systems, and construction waste management. • Inventory supplies and communicate supply orders for re-stocking. • Ensure compliance with safety codes, regulations, and jobsite standards. • Understand work instructions, project signage, and safety instructions; inspect tools prior to use. • Participate in daily Pre-Task Plans, follow safety protocols, and wear appropriate PPE. • Perform selected demolition and participate in subcontractor and supplier activities. • Review project perimeter for security and cleanliness daily, and assist in end-of-day cleanup activities. • Perform fire watch duties and construct scaffolding as needed. • Manage dumpster vendor schedule and maintain cleanliness and organization of dumpster areas. • Serve as a spotter for heavy equipment operators. • Ensure security of equipment and work areas during operations. • Identify, communicate, and escalate problems and issues to supervisors for resolution. • Track production of completed tasks and assist other craft workers as directed. • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees. Essential Skills: • Minimum of 6 months of construction experience. • Proficiency in using power tools and tape measurers. • Ability to read a tape measure. • Skills in carpentry, concrete, and hand tools.
