Construction Mason

```Duties``` - Lay bricks, stone, concrete blocks, and other types of masonry materials to construct or repair walls, foundations, chimneys, and other structures - Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and dimensions of the structure - Measure and cut materials to the required size using power tools and hand tools - Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto the surfaces using trowels or other tools - Align bricks or stones and ensure they are level and plumb - Apply mortar between joints and remove excess mortar using appropriate techniques - Repair or restore existing masonry structures by replacing damaged bricks or stones - Install insulation materials in masonry walls as required - Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in masonry work ```Experience``` - Proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role - Proficient in using power tools and hand tools for masonry work - Familiarity with reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications - Knowledge of different types of bricks, stones, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials - Ability to mix mortar or grout to the right consistency for various applications - Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision - Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods of time - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Summary As a Brick Mason, you will be integral to the construction team, responsible for building and repairing structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other materials. Reporting to the Construction Supervisor, your core skills in masonry, power tools, and hand tools will be essential for executing precise work. You will also utilize premium skills such as concrete finishing and rebar installation to enhance project quality. Your ability to read blueprints and manage construction sites will ensure projects are completed efficiently and to specifications, contributing to the overall success of our construction endeavors. In this role, you will remove and install refractory products in differente . You will use a combination of modern power tools and traditional hand tools. The ideal candidate has a proven track record as a skilled Mason and a love of the craft. Responsibilities • Install Refractory products such as Refractory Plastic, Ram, Brick, Castable and Gunnite • Removal of refractory with chipping hammers and rivet busters • Use hand tools and power tools to perform basic construction tasks • Running gunite machinery during installation of refractory materials. • Perform stick welding of steel anchors. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings • Train apprentices in masonry skills • Ability to Travel - Currently position would require some out-of-town travel as some of our customers are Out of State. Qualifications • 5 + years of bricklayer experience, residential and commercial • 3+ years’ experience in construction projects. (Industrial construction is helpful) (Refractory knowledge and experience is extremely helpful, but not required). • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts • Knowledge of building forms for masonry work (arches, lintels, ect.) • Previous experience as a Mason or in a similar position • Ability to adapt to multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality Certification or training in masonry is preferred • Ability to collaborate with other construction professionals • Strong attention to detail • Excellent hand-eye coordination • Ability to adhere to all safety rules and regulations • Knowledge of power tools and industrial machinery is preferred
