Construction Laborer

Salary: Summary: 50+ hours/week This full-time position is responsible for performing various labor duties around the job-site, as needed. Skills/Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in construction would be great. Ability to attain certifications as required, Fit for Duty, Job Knowledge Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. • Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities. • Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects. • Prepares work by studying and clarifying instructions and diagrams; calculating requirements; gathering supplies. • Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed. • This position is responsible for tasks involving physical labor at construction sites and assisting other workers Employees may operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones with appropriate training provided. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials with appropriate training provided. • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes • Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards • They may also clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble other waste materials • Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools while distributing them to the appropriate locations Sequoia Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Summary Position Description: A Superintendent manages the day-to-day operations of a project site; plans, directs and coordinates - through subordinate supervisory personnel - activities concerned with the construction; participates in the conceptual development of a construction project; and oversees the projects organization, scheduling, budgeting and implementation. Developing and implementing quality control programs. Implementing plans in response to delays, bad weather, or construction site emergencies. Non-Essential Functions/Duties: • Motivating, leading and boosting morale of the teams. • Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. • Control traffic passing near, in or around work areas. • Additional duties to meet the demands of the Company. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED. • 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Must maintain valid drivers license and good driving record.
