Duties and Responsibilities: • Assists in building and assembling wood forms and form systems • Assists in mixing, pouring, grading and finishing concrete • Assist with flagging • Able to use hand tools such as a hammer, shovels, chainsaws, drills, hydraulic tools, et. Duties, Responsibilities & Other: • This position will involve inspection on active roadway and bridge construction projects and includes some supervisory responsbilities. • Must prepare detailed and timely reports to document construction progress, inspection and testing results. • Prepare necessary records and measure field quantities, conduct field tests and other tests that may be required to determine contractor’s compliance with contract specifications. • Previous experience on NCDOT road and bridge construction projects is preferred. • Active/current NCDOT QMS Asphalt Roadway, Concrete and Conventional Density certifications a significant plus. • Must prepare detailed and timely reports to document construction progress, inspection and testing results. • Prepare necessary records and measure field quantities, conduct field tests and other tests that may be required to determine contractors compliance with contract specifications • 6+ years of inspection experience on NCDOT projects is preferred Qualifications: • Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or applicable field. • 4 - 8 years of experience required. • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
