Personal Protective Equipment must be worn accordingly. • Annually, completion of prescribed NC Department of Public Safety training is required. • Unofficial copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts must be included. Official copies are required before the start date. • This position may involve occasional travel between campuses and for training. After-hours work may also be required. • Face-to-face teaching is a requirement of this position. Essential Duties • Daily work in close proximity to minimum custody inmates. • Teach 160 hours per 8-week contract, maintaining a safe learning environment. • Prepare for and meet classes as assigned, promptly evaluating student progress within one week. • Demonstrate concern for student retention by employing best practice strategies. • Assist in registration and orientation as requested by the supervisor. • Keep the supervisor informed of matters pertaining to the curriculum. • Follow policies stated in the policies and procedures manual regarding instructor responsibilities. • Notify the supervisor and/or Provost when planning to be off campus during regular working hours. • Submit records and forms in a timely fashion as required in the policy and procedures manual.
