POSITION Masonry Instructor OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY Under the general guidance of the Director of Trade Programs, and the authority of the Dean for Workforce Development, the Part-Time Masonry Instructor is responsible for providing vocational/technical instruction to adults in the field of masonry. This position requires flexible working hours; day, evening and possibly weekends. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS · High School diploma or HiSET required Specialized training and industry certifications in the masonry trade and applications. Competency gained through work experience. Preferred: NCCER Certification. Four years of direct experience working as a masonry contractor. One year postsecondary teaching experience in subject matter. • Instruct, advise, guide and assist students to achieve job skills and social skills necessary to become employed in the masonry industry • Integrate classroom and hands-on experience enabling students to demonstrate competencies • Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning • Provide instruction using handouts, texts, audiovisual, and project-based learning • Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students' needs • Oversee day-to-day operation of the class • Recruit and provide orientation for new students in the program • Maintain class records; prepare and submit instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy • Follow all safety and security procedures and notify the campus leadership of deficiency • Provide feedback to program supervisor regarding student progress and/or comprehension of course content in classroom or in theory classes • Ensures confidentiality of all student records and student information • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skill in subject specialty • Motivate and encourage students to successfully complete their program • Promote community awareness of program opportunities • Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College • Requires flexible hours; days, nights and possibly weekends · Ability to use Microsoft Office Outlook and PowerPoint · Availability to work Saturday , daytime and or evening hours SALARY/BENEFITS · Salary is according to current compensation plan. Mason/Hardscape Crew Technician - Position Overview ACL is currently seeking a talented Hardscape Construction Project Expert with a proven track record of installing a variety of projects for a variety of clients. As a key part of the Atlantic Coast team, you will be responsible for: • Supporting a crew leader with a team of 2 or more team members • Being the on site "hands on" expert for projects with hardscape and masonry elements • Typical projects include but are not limited to; Stone Patios, Pool Decks, Outdoor Living Areas, Retaining Walls, Permeable and Traditional Pavers, Waterfalls, Ponds and Pondless Water Features, Community Entrance Signs, Hardscapes, Masonry, and much more. The team will also complete complimentary services such as sod, landscaping, lighting, irrigation, etc as part of these projects or lead another crew to complete them while remaining the main point of contact for the client. Position Requirements Our ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and organizer who is results-driven, assertive, efficient, and a team player.
