JOB DESCRIPTION As a Construction Manager at Ditesco, you will manage the construction of water, wastewater, utility, and heavy civil projects across the Northern Front Range region. • Ensures accurate and timely project document control to meet contract requirements including management of record drawings, submittals, RFIs, and construction observation logs. • Manage contract change processes including change orders, change directives, and field orders, review of contractor price proposals and change requests. • Performs field layout verification and ensures that materials incorporated into the work are compliant with submittals and contract requirements. • Develops and manages construction quality control and quality assurance programs. • Responsible for contract administration of various construction project types (GMP, Unit Price, Cost Plus, etc.) • Verifies and ensures material and equipment received is compliant with approval submittals and shop drawings prior to incorporation into the work. • Responsible for internal and external job cost, schedule, and quality analysis and controls. • Prepares for and manages weekly project progress meetings and meeting documentation. • Reviews material test reports for compliance to specifications. Works with outside agencies, general contractor and engineer to resolve nonconforming work. • Manages closeout and commissioning activities including punch list, completion certificates, warranties, start-up and testing, early project operations, and final payment procedures. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management or related degree from an accredited college or university. • Certified Construction Manager or Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado licensure preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • 8 years of experience in construction management or engineering, with an emphasis on infrastructure and/or transportation projects. • Ability to understand, communicate, and coordinate project design and construction changes between owner, engineer, and contractor. • Strong experience and competence in use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Project. • Experience in general construction project delivery including document control, reading and understanding project plans and specifications, change control, owner and stakeholder meeting management, RFI and submittal management, and field issue resolution. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. • Ability to ensure compliance with, and follow, standard safety practices and procedures common to construction work. Ability to recognize and correct unsafe conditions. • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and translate plan dimensions into field dimensions. • Ability to prepare budgets and proposals, and manage job costs. • Experience preparing construction cost estimates for design and construction. • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, clients, and the public. • Ability to supervise assigned staff, mentor, and manage career growth. • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
