Job Description A Journeyman Mason is responsible for completing custom masonry work on distinctive projects. Key skills include the ability to work with block/unit, lay stone with above average skill and speed, and complete work safely, with quality, and within productivity specifications as directed by the foreman or superintendent. Masons must have a minimum of 5 years' of construction or masonry experience. • Must be able to align stone with plumbline and finish joints with pointing trowel. • Must be able to fasten or fuse brick or other building material to structure with wire clamps, anchor holes, torch, or cement. • Must be able to mix and spread mortar over stone and foundation with trowel and set masonry in place by hand or with aid of a forklift or crane. • Participates in daily huddles and practices safety as priority on all job sites.
