Typical duties include preparing project sites for construction activities; assisting in demolition and building activities; loading/unloading materials; working with lumber and concrete; use of air, electric, and pneumatic tools; general labor. Other Duties may include concrete forming & finishing activities, such as prepping sites for concrete, setting forms, pouring concrete, smoothing, and finishing concrete surfaces, and operating a variety of concrete finishing tools and equipment. This individual will be required to safely smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, and curbs to specified textures using hand and power tools, including floats, trowels, and screeds. They may also be required to safely signal concrete drivers in order to position trucks and facilitate placement of concrete, the ability to maneuver, and control various types of heavy machinery used in construction-related activities, to include demolition of concrete paving and structures, loading and unloading of demolition materials and aggregates, excavation of soils, and operating and maintaining equipment used to construct roads, buildings, and other structures.
