We have an excellent career opportunity for a Masonry Apprentice servicing high-end residential and commercial properties. You will hold a key position with the company installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and assist in monitoring all aspects of small and large-scale Masonry projects on new or existing landscape projects. How you will make an impact: Skills • Assist in the construction and installation of various masonry and hardscape projects such as full bed veneer, thin stone veneer, wet laid and dry laid walls, walkways, patios, retaining walls, fireplaces, and other decorative landscape installations using brick, stone, tile and/or pavers • Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project • Operate various tools and equipment, including but not limited to cutoff saws, angle grinders, hammers/chisels, mixing equipment, mason trowels/floats, compactors, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, rakes, dingos, skids, hammers, drills, etc. • Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required for the project • Assist foreman with any job-related tasks • Properly mix various grades of mortars • Properly mix, pour, and spread concrete • Assist in building and dismantling forms used for pouring concrete • Assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to execute work. • Complete and submit daily paperwork • Always adhere to safety guidelines and anticipate potential hazards • Attend all departmental safety trainings You are: • A Driving Force - You roll-up your sleeves and figure things out. Knowledge of typical construction process, roles and responsibilities is important. Will require both commercial and residential inspections of forms, reinforcing, foundations, testing and sampling concrete during placement, concrete breaks in the lab, tracking data and samples. Use of phone and / or I-pad in the field is required, and ability to follow all required procedures and protocols for electronic inspection reports and logging, paid training provided.
