Setup machines and select feeds and speeds based on material and size of items to be machined. Use blue prints, Autocad drawings, sketches, and some verbal instructions to achieve required results. Requirements: • Must have all measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, scales, radius gauges, thread gauges, indicators, telescoping gauges, and surface finish gauges. Must be able to accurately use all measuring tools listed above. • Must have all setup tools such as parallels, clamps, wrenches, jacks, and test indicators. • Must own a machinist handbook. • Must have knowledge of metallurgy and able to make proper tool selections based on materials to be machined. • Must be able to setup and operate all equipment safely and all setups having a medium to high safety factor to be review by the supervisor prior to executing the machining operation. • Must have excellent math skills. • Will be required to maintain machine cleanliness and be able to detect when there is a mechanical or maintenance problem with whatever machine is being used. • Must have good mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills. • Must be able to assemble machined components. • Must have flexible schedule and be able to accommodate customers during breakdowns and rush conditions. • Must able to work beyond the normal schedule.
