Here, you will make an impact by: • Operates CNC Lathe and Mills; has knowledge and able to run multiple machines • Dial in appropriate program for parts to be run from known setting options; must have knowledge of program codes and is able to perform simple program edits; must understand G-Code, M-Code and critical dimensions • Loading / Unloading of parts; performs de-burring of parts • Performs more complex set-ups and tooling change / setting offsets; may receive assistance from Team Lead or Machinist III; expected to know proper collet, tool holders and tool holding techniques > example know the correct depth to ensure tool is stable • Verifies part measurements using measuring tools to include micrometers, calipers, bore gages, height gages, indicators or other measuring equipment • Performs quality audits and all documentation to MASH #2 standards; must assure tolerance levels are held • Detects out of tolerance conditions; reacts by troubleshooting related issues and makes proper adjustments; makes adjustments in response to changing conditions and as indicated by run data • Detects; knowingly expects equipment malfunctions in time to prevent further issues or damage • Performs more detailed preventative maintenance on equipment; examples may include coolant check, startup check list, spin chips, re-cycle coolant • Maintain work area in a safe and lean condition • Maintain 5s requirements • Weekend work (typically Saturdays as required by demand or volume) • Working on holidays as needed (rare but could happen) Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher completed and verified prior to start • One (1) year of experience with precision measuring instruments; read blueprints, manuals, and work instructions. • One (1) year of experience with M-code and critical dimensions in a private, public, government, or military environment • Must be able to work 2nd shift Applicants meeting the basic qualifications above may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as part of the selection process.
