As a CPI Machine Operator you will occupy a key role in working with and for a company that builds the physical infrastructure that powers, protects and secures the world's digital technology. Day to day, you will be responsible for setting up and operating standard machines in the sheet metal area. Responsible for meeting safety, quality and productivity expectations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Under minimal supervision, sets up and operates equipment including loading/unloading material. • Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including but not limited to all guarding. Corrects any safety issues prior to operating the equipment. • Inspects parts per work in process inspection procedure. Resolves quality and mechanical problems, making minor repairs and equipment adjustments, as needed. • Requisitions material from warehouse, when necessary. Inspects material for shipping damage and/or supplier defects. • Maintains machine and tooling clean and in good shape. • Works from blueprints, engineering specifications and production schedules. May operate forklift, as related to loading/unloading material on equipment. Continuously maintains a clean work area. Disposes of trash, production scrap and material drop-off. Assists in cleaning common areas. Performs other related duties, as assigned by management. The machines include forming presses for sheet metal, bending machines for sheet metal, expansion machine for sheet metal and welding machines and Welding Robots. Processes include washing and passivation of metal parts and bonding of insulating materials to sheet metal via infrared heating. Operate Welding Robot and record statistical data. Responsibilities - Understand and follow Operator Instructions, necessary for safe operation of machines. - Load completed work pieces onto a Cart and inspect for any faults - Load work pieces against stops or fixturing. - Activate machines by buttons or foot pedal - Change or rotate any electrodes or fixture to continue or improve process. - Observe machine operation for malfunction or change and inform setter - Observe and record machine and process parameters for consistency. - Inspect, measure and record specified part features to assure consistent and conforming product. - Follow Part Identification Procedureto avoid contamination of confirming product. - Repair nonconforming parts by following Rework Procedures. - Transport parts as required. - Assist leaders (setter persons) in machine set up. - Participate in problem-solving process. - Participate in Continuous Improvement Process, - Monitor pressures and settings for proper operation of the equipment. - Perform routine set up and some limited maintenance. - Perform all other duties as assigned. Your Profile Job Qualification Requirements: - High School Diploma or GED - Good math skills. - Good communication skills - Good understanding of statistical methods. Good aptitude to operate PLC aided equipment. - Some mechanical knowledge - The Labor Grade within this Job Classification is dependent on experience, knowledge, responsibility, performance, dependability and job complexity. - Any of the above requirements/qualifications may be waived for the successful candidate. Knowledge: - Knowledge of safety practices. - Show evidence of mechanical or electrical knowledge. Experience: - Minimum of three (3) years experience in an industrial setting. - Experience in operating PLC aided industrial equipment. Your Pay and Benefits The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based onyourspecific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
