Job Title: CNC Machinist Job Description We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with a solid in machining and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to study blueprints, sketches, and sequence of operations to perform precise machining tasks. Responsibilities • Study blueprints, sketches, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary. • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut. • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, adjusting machine controls as required. • Verify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications using measuring and inspection tools. • Set up and operate machine on trial runs to verify accuracy of machine settings. • Confer with production personnel and programmers to resolve machining or assembly problems. • Maintain cleanliness in the work area and adhere to safety procedures at all times. Essential Skills • High School Diploma or GED. • Knowledge of blueprints and CNC machines. • Experience working with Mazak machines. • 3+ years recent CNC machining experience, preferably with 4 and 5 axis machines. • Proficiency in set-ups and true machining, not just button pushing. • Experience with Mazatrol SmoothX Controls and Fanuc controls. May override disk control feed and speed using manual data input to prevent broken tools and damaged material. -May require editing of CNC programs as necessary. -Requires contact with Manufacturing Engineering or Experimental to coordinate machine operations. -Utilizes a variety of hand tools to complete the work including wrenches, hammers, and precision measuring instruments such as scale, protractors, calipers, and micrometers. -May also require finishing parts by sanding, hand routing or burring.May require the use of moving equipment to stage work and to perform other functions of this job.
