As a CNC Machinist at Galaxy you'll play a pivotal role in producing top-quality aerospace components while working in a dynamic and innovative environment. Key Responsibilities: Machine Setup and Operation: Prepare and set up CNC Haas machines, load programs, and execute machining operations according to set-up documents and blueprints. Precision Machining: Read and interpret blueprints to determine hole placements, depths, and diameters, ensuring tight tolerances are met. Perform basic code editing and adjust speeds and feeds as necessary to optimize machining processes. Quality Assurance: Conduct part inspections during and after machining, ensuring adherence to specifications. Perform cleaning and deburring of finished parts to maintain high quality standards. Efficiency and Multitasking: Run multiple machines when required, maximizing productivity while maintaining attention to detail. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to facilitate smooth operations. Continuous Improvement: Cross-train on various machines and processes to broaden skill set and contribute to overall team effectiveness. Safety Compliance: Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and uphold safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Team Collaboration: Assist and support colleagues as needed, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Additional Responsibilities: • Track estimated versus actual hours spent on jobs to optimize workflow and efficiency. • Willingness to work overtime when necessary, although overtime is not mandatory. • Return all company tools to their designated locations after use to maintain organization and efficiency. Requirements: • High school diploma or GED equivalent. • Minimum of 2 years of basic CNC machinist experience, including machine set-up. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and set-up documents. • Experience running Haas machines using Fanuc controls. • Understanding of basic G-codes and ability to edit programs as needed. • Knowledge of speeds and feeds adjustment for optimal machining. • Familiarity with micrometers and other measurement devices for quality assurance. Schedule We currently offer two shifts: Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, or Monday to Thursday, 3:30pm to 2:30am. Second-shift employees enjoy a 15% shift differential. Summary /Objective The Welder Fabricator is to contribute to the daily production operations efficiently and effectively by utilizing welding expertise to fabricate precise metal structures and components, interpret blueprints accurately, maintain welding equipment, ensure rigorous quality standards, and collaborate seamlessly with the production team, thereby upholding the company's commitment to excellence and contributing to its ongoing success. Job scope includes: • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements • Operate a drill press, lathe, and end mill to notch, drill or machine down parts • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements) • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety • Possess a positive attitude and team mindset • Weld tooling on rotary table • Reasonable and reliable attendance • All other duties as assigned Competencies • Proven experience as welder/fabricator • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.) • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings. • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) • Deftness and attention to detail • Proficient in English • Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus Required Education and Experience • 3 or more years of Industrial manufacturing experience preferred • Knowledge of Plastic Blow mold equipment is preferred • Strong Electrical knowledge is preferred • 1 or more years’ experience in various welding techniques Additional Education and Experience • Forklift Certified • CPR Certified • Ability to be certified on other Industrial equipment as required Work Authorization/ Security Clearance Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Galaxy Technologies is looking for an experienced VTL Operator with CNC Background. Our ideal candidate will have 3+ year's of machine shop experience, can effectively and efficiently operate and program a VTL Machine, along with the requirements listed below. Job Purpose: Creates quality products by setting up and operating CNC VTL machinery. Works under general supervision. Essential Functions include the following; other duties may be assigned. • Obtains information for upcoming jobs by communicating with programmers, tool makers, and opposite shift regarding specifications, potential issues, tie-in details, and work order numbers. • Prepares to run job by locating, prepping, and setting up machine, tools, tooling, cutters, parts, fixtures, and materials. Finishes backup work orders. • Manufactures new parts by obtaining materials, prints, and programs; setting up parts and tools; writing, editing, and loading program; running part per print, model, program, or tool maker instructions; ensuring machine is running correctly; obtains part layout; removing part; deburring and cleaning part; labeling part; and removing tooling. • Ensures job accuracy by reading blueprints, verifying dimensions, checking parts per print dimension, editing programs, editing feeds and speeds, proving programs. • Maintains electronic information by backing up programs, tapes, and CNC files. Generates data via shop floor programming for CNC equipment lacking data. • Improves production quality, efficiency, and timeliness by modifying programs and revising production notes and tapes. • Conducts machine maintenance by identifying needed repairs, filling and/or replacing fluids, checking lubrication lines, cleaning and/or replacing filters, checking hoses, and cleaning machinery. Completes machine maintenance sheet. • Maintains quality standards by reworking jobs to meet specifications. • Records machine time by logging hours the machine has been powered on. • Maintains inventory by ordering supplies for machines and materials for jobs. • Maintains personal precision tools by inspecting, calibrating, repairing and ordering tooling. • Becomes familiar with the quality system requirements as it pertains to the department. • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Secures tools, materials and equipment at end of day. • Contributes to team effort by actively participating in team meetings.
