We are looking for highly dependable and motivated individuals to join our work force at Columbia Elevators! Summary The CNC Operator/Programmer produces machined parts by programming, setting up and operating a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine while following company rules and policies. Job duties • Reads and interprets blueprint designs of the product to be manufactured and sets machine to produce product/components to customer specification. • Programs router by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches, calculating requirements including basic math, geometry, trigonometry, proving part programs. • Sets up router to manufacture parts; loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position. • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part and sample work pieces. • Makes mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements. • Periodically checks CNC machine to ensure positioning of drills stay perfectly aligned. • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. • Maintains equipment through preventative maintenance; following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. • Abides by the policies, procedures and work rules established by the plant.
