This position will set-up and operate a variety of computer-controlled and mechanically-controlled machine tools to produce precision metal parts, instruments and tools of the highest quality standards. This position will regularly interact and problem solve with cross-functional team members across Viega. JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS • Translate the information from blueprints, sketches, specifications and CAD/CAM files to the production of precision tools & dies. • Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces. • Ability to set up, operate, and conversationally program conventional, manual, and computer-numeric controlled (CNC) machines and equipment. • File, grind and adjust parts so that they fit together properly. • Quality check completed tools and dies to ensure that they meet specifications. • Smooth and polish the surfaces of tools and dies. • Works cooperatively with a wide variety of Viega departments and outside vendors. • Preparing raw materials and tools prior to machining, cutting or deburring.
