The person in the role of Machinist fabricates parts for products; ensures the efficiency and quality of production; maintains a safe working environment; contributes to team effort.Key ResponsibilitiesMachining & Fabrication (60%)Operate various machine tools (e.g., lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders) to produce new and replacement parts for durable medical equipmentInterpret blueprints, job orders, and machining instructions to determine specifications, operational sequences, and tooling requirementsSet cutting speeds, feed rates, and depths of cut based on machining instructions and material propertiesPerform adjustments to ensure parts meet required specifications and document daily work and maintenance activitiesAssist with receiving and unloading materials and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)Quality Assurance & Equipment Maintenance (25%)Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure compliance with specificationsConduct preventive maintenance on equipment and manage inventory levelsEnsure adherence to ISO and FDA regulatory standardsSafety & Workplace Organization (10%)Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols, attending required training, and performing lockout/tagout proceduresKeep workstations clean and organized to support operational efficiencyGeneral Support (5%)Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectivesQualifications:Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.Ability to read and understand blueprints.Ability to become qualified to perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
