CNC Swiss Machinist

Hours of operation are Monday -Thursday 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, and 4:30 pm with overtime opportunities on Friday. We value the importance of work/life balance for all employees. Position Location: Pittsburg, KS Position Overview: The main focus of a CNC Swiss Machinist; to perform basic set-up and operations of CNC Machines for the efficient production of quality components. Additionally, a CNC Machinist Level II may mentor lower level CNC Machinists. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Able to perform basic set-up functions, maintain tooling and perform offsets to maintain part quality. • Suggest and assist in the implementation of process improvement ideas. • Provide accurate production reports. • Demonstrate ability to follow Safety rules. • Conduct self in professional manner. • Monitor fluid levels of machine, and report any maintenance needed to Department Lead. • Demonstrate ability to read blue prints and inspect parts with specified measuring devices. • Complete job order documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 quality standards. • Load/unload parts in provided work holding method per setup. • Must be able to repeatedly load and unload work pieces up to 50 lbs. each • Deburr parts as required. • Must be able to stand for long periods of time. • Maintain clean work area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Attend daily safety briefings and always maintain safe working conditions. • Maintain condition, functionality and always use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). • Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or Vernier calipers. • Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders or punches. • Set up, adjust or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations. • Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition. • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories or materials onto machines. • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements or assembly instructions. • Communicate with supervisors to plan or review work activities or to resolve production problems. • Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
