About the Position The Machine Operator will play a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating specialized machinery used in the production of Pad-mounted, Pole-mounted, and Three-Phase transformers. This hands-on role requires precision, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. Responsibilities What you will do Machine Operators at ERMCO set up, run, and troubleshoot machines used to make transformers. They follow clear instructions and safety rules to keep operations smooth and safe. The job involves handling heavy metal parts—often over 50 pounds—using tools or lifting equipment. Operators use hand and power tools like drills and wrenches and measuring tools like tape measures and calipers to ensure parts are made correctly. They inspect products for quality, keep their work area clean, and wear protective gear like safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. Most importantly, they work as a team and stay focused on safety and improving how things are done. Qualifications Necessary Qualifications • Follow written and spoken instructions to set up and run machines. • Operate equipment used to make different types of transformers. • Start, run, change tools, and shut down machines safely. • Lift and move heavy metal parts (over 50 lbs) by hand or with lifting tools. • Use tools like drills, wrenches, pliers, and hammers for assembly and repairs. • Measure parts accurately with tape measures, calipers, and micrometers. • Check parts and products for quality and report any issues. • Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe. • Wear required safety gear like steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, welding hoods, and hearing protection. • Use safe lifting techniques and handle tools properly. • Work well with others and help improve processes. • Use devices like iPads for tasks and reporting. • Do basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) with different units. • Stay organized and pay close attention to detail. • Be physically able to stand and walk often, with some bending and reaching. • Meet vision standards (20/40 vision, good peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus). • Follow all safety rules and procedures. Machine Operator - Location

Transformer Production Operator This position will use their skillset to operate machinery used in the production of Pad, Pole, or 3Phase transformers while considering the values and goals of ERMCO. Responsibilities Understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions with regards to the operation of various equipment and the production of parts. Ensure safe and proper start-up, operation, tool changes, and shut-down of equipment. Repeatedly lift/move material that is 50+ lbs. with or without assistance from lifting devices. Handle metal parts/material and use hand/power tools. Ensure conformity of parts to ERMCO standards. Follow all ERMCO safety policies and procedures. Qualifications Communicate and understand written and verbal instructions; Use iPad or other electronic communication devices; Use of organizational skills and attention to detail is necessary; Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in thousandths and up to 1/16th of an inch; Demonstrate proper lifting techniques; Grasp, reach, and handle objects, tools, and materials; Use measuring devices such as rulers, calipers, and micrometers; Use hand & power tools such as air ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, and grinders; Operate overhead hoists and lift assist equipment; Lift, push/pull 50+ lbs.; Frequent standing and walking is necessary; Occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneeling; 20/40 vision is required with or without the use of corrective glasses and/or contact lens, as well as normal peripheral vision no less than 70, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; Must comply with all plant safety policies and procedures and any special department safety rules; Must be able to wear all required PPE including, but not limited to: safety toed shoes, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, and hearing protection.
