1st Shift CNC Machinist

Description: Set up and operate CNC Mills or Lathes. Plan, construct, alter and repair a wide variety of fixtures and tools. Work from existing programs, equipment manuals, prints, work orders and instructions. • Work with engineering personnel and operators to coordinate machining of work pieces. • Set up equipment using common hand tools, set controls and input program instructions to get maximum capacity out of equipment. • Insert and indicate in tooling, modify programs as necessary and operate equipment. • Run test samples and check with required tooling as necessary, monitor equipment operation and make operating adjustments as required. • Gauge finished work piece to ensure part is within tolerances. • Finish work piece using grinders, mills, EDM, and honing equipment. • Clean and put away precision measuring and electronic testing equipment. • Clean and lubricate equipment as necessary, use correct type and amount of lubrication and apply lubricants neatly. • Fill out parts requisitions, tool requests, and other required paperwork. • Follow all written quality and other procedures. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements: • 4+ years of experience setting up / running CNC Mills or lathes with Fanuc controls. • Experience machining stainless steel and non-ferrous materials. • Knowledge of machines with live tooling, tailstock & sub-spindle transfers highly desired. • Multi-turret lathe machine or 5-axis milling experience a plus. • Feature Cam or Fusion 360 programming knowledge and experience is a plus • CAD/CAM knowledge is helpful but not required • Able to read micrometer, gauges and comparator. CNC Set Up Operator/CNC Machinist

CNC Setup Operator/Machinist Job Status: Full Time Job Type: Direct Hire Location: Elgin, IL Pay: $25-32/hr Work Schedule: • 2nd Shift: Mon.-Thurs. 3:30pm-1am, Fri. 3:30pm-7:30pm (1.50/hr differential) Position Summary Operate and set up CNC machines and perform secondary operations within the department. Position Qualifications Skills & Abilities • Education: High School diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience). • Experience: 2+ years in CNC setup and operation; preferred experience with plastics/polymers and CNC programming. • Certifications & Licenses: Must achieve “certified operator” quality certification. • Other Requirements: • Blueprint reading. • Using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, CMM). • Working independently with limited supervision. • Understanding “G” & “M” code programming. • Passing a background check and drug screen. Physical Requirements • Ability to wear PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety toed boots as needed). • Ability to stand, walk, sit, manually manipulate objects, reach, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
