Responsibilities • Set-up, and operate a minimum of 3 machines (CNC lathes, CNC Mills, saws, broaches, etc.). • Apply multi-tasking skills often by operating multiple machines and duties in a cell environment. • Coordinate production activities with Material Handlers, Team Leaders, Supervisors and Shipping Clerks. • Check quality of parts as needed with measuring devices such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers. • Analyze and adjust or correct controls, tools and fixtures to maintain quality levels during production. • Apply principles of Lean Manufacturing in accordance with Policy Deployment. • Be an active participant in Kaizen events and Lean Manufacturing trainings as required. • Ensure a safe working environment exists in the area. Verify safety duties are assigned and completed at the frequency required. • Interface daily with team leaders and managers to guarantee the production facility is meeting all demands. • Understand and follow company policies. • Perform other duties as assigned. Experience and Skill Required • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required. • Good mechanical aptitude. • Ability to read precision measuring instruments. • Knowledge on how to set-up, program, and operate CNC lathes and CNC vertical mills and control autonomously. • 1+ year(s) experience with CNC equipment, preferably with Haas and Mori Seiki. • Ability to read and interpret production schedules and blue prints. • Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma, or similar improvement methods. • Experience with SAP preferred. • Basic computer skills with an understanding of Microsoft Office Suite. Physical Requirements • Lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, arm-hand steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity, control precision, standing for long periods of time, and hearing sensitivity. • 40+ work hours a week depending on production demands. • Overtime may be required as needed to meet production demands, including occasional Saturdays. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time with assistance.
