SUMMARY • Operates machine to provide parts for assembly into braking resistors by performing the following duties. • Pulls process sheet to determine specifications and order of operation by utilizing computer software. • Operate equipment to produce the part required. • Identify bad parts by checking against process sheet specifications, taking accurate measurements and visually inspecting parts before releasing for next operation. • Repair bad parts as required. • Alert set—up operators of problems such as out of specification or machine malfunction and discontinue machine operation until problem is resolved. • Ensures that all documentation, e.g. travelers, scrap reports, grinding reports, and production tickets are completed accurately and that parts are labeled in accordance with the process sheet. • Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing required PPE, adhering to all safety rules and regulations and reporting all unsafe working conditions. • Assist new operators during OJT phase of employment by serving as a trainer/mentor until they are familiar enough with the operating procedures to work safely on their own. • Maintain a clean, safe work environment by practicing good housekeeping and keeping work area well organized. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully; an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
