Machinist

Job Title: L3 Machinist Job Description The machine shop is responsible for metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring parts to the control plan (blueprint and instruction) specification. Once finished, the product goes to final quality inspection. The Level III Machinist's role involves staging parts using a forklift and pallet jack, loading the machine with raw material, operating CNC machines, deburring parts, removing excess metal using air-powered tools, offloading machines with finished parts, and performing general helper duties around the machine shop. This is a low to mid-level machinist position, and the role requires flexibility to assist with various tasks in the machine shop to ensure parts are ready for production. Responsibilities • Responsible for production, quality, housekeeping, and other related duties associated with the operations. • Set up and operate CNC machines, transport material, operate wash tanks, and operate a forklift to move material around the facility. • Troubleshoot and solve everyday problems. • Float from one machine to another as needed. • Follow the control plan for the machine or job assigned. • Ensure adherence to quality standards and process standards for the assigned area. Essential Skills • 1+ year experience in a manufacturing environment. • Experience running a machine in a manufacturing environment (CNC preferred). • Baseline experience with gauging. • Experience using quality measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, dial bores, steel rulers).
