Principal Functions of the Position: This position is responsible for operating multiple CNC or manual machines, making advanced setups with limited help, and inspecting parts before and after machining. Sets up controls and operations of machines to perform a series of machining operations such as drilling, milling, engraving, and deburring. May program CNC machines in the course of making parts. Interprets and follows verbal and written instructions and is able to read blueprints. Performs all work in accordance within established standards and safety procedures. Current Schedule: 32 hours/week Monday-Thursday Machining / Equipment / Programming: This job involves the operator being able to read blue prints and being able to setup, modify and run component parts and finished goods using pre-determined parameters on a variety of CNC or manual machines. The operator must understand the basic operational parameters and setup processes involved in the machining process and be able to make periodic adjustments and/or modifications at each of the respective work center(s) during a given production run cycle. There will be times when the operator will use hand-held, electric, or pneumatic hand tools and measuring devices such as scales, micrometers and calipers. The position requires the operator to be able to make standard ship computations; he/she must have good math skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
