Job Type Full-time Description Who we are: NRP Jones, LLC is a domestic manufacturer of hydraulic hose and fittings, industrial hose, and oil field hose that is comprised of several complimentary divisions located across the United States. NRP Jones, LLC sells to distributors and original equipment manufacturers in all 50 states, Canada, and abroad. Position Overview: • Operate 6 or 8 spindle screw machine to fabricate parts. Load steel bars into machine, cycle machine, detect malfunctions in machine such as warn or damaged cutting tools. Run productions lots, communicate with co-workers regarding production runs and maintain safe, organized and clean work environment. Essential Job Functions • Operate one or more screw machines • Read and understand blue prints • Set up machine(s) for different parts being run and maintain acceptable setup times • Able to sharpen tools • Read micrometers and calipers • Inspect and check quality of work as directed by foreman • Maintain production efficiency • Clean and lubricate assigned machines Qualifications: • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Machinist

About the position The machinist role at Aerotek involves working with highly productive Mazak lathes to produce parts and subsequently transferring them to lathes with lower production rates. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of G code or Mazak controls, enabling them to make minor edits to existing programs as necessary. This position requires the loading of materials into the machines and managing the production process, which can vary significantly in scale. Production schedules may range from as few as 6-12 parts to over 100 parts, with completion times that can extend to 2 days or more depending on the complexity and quantity of the parts being produced. Precision is key in this role, as machinists are expected to maintain a tolerance of +/- .002. Candidates should ideally possess their own quality tools, such as micrometers and calipers, to ensure that all parts meet the required specifications. Basic math skills, particularly with decimals and fractions, are essential for success in this position. Additionally, there may be occasions where the machinist will need to operate a Bridgeport machine, adding to the variety of tasks involved in this role. This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity, allowing for a potential transition to a permanent role after a duration of 5 months. The work environment is fully on-site, located in La Porte, Indiana, within a smaller shop setting that accommodates approximately 35 employees.
