Job Title: Machinist Job Description This machinist role is essential for a manufacturing company, where you will support the assembly team by creating necessary parts for building drills. Your primary responsibility will be making rotors. Responsibilities • Operate Mazak lathes to produce parts, transitioning them to a less utilized lathe for increased productivity. • Set up machines and make minor edits to programs using G code or similar controls. • Load materials into machines and oversee production runs. • Manage production schedules ranging from 6-12 parts to over 100, with orders potentially taking up to two days. • Maintain a tolerance of +/- .002. • Utilize personal quality tools such as micrometers and calipers. • Perform basic math operations with decimals and fractions. • Occasionally use a Bridgeport to drill holes as needed. • Operate a forklift to move materials for production. Essential Skills • 2+ years of experience with machining on mills or lathes. • Experience in machine setup. • Proficiency in reading blueprints. • Proven ability to maintain a tolerance of +/- .002 or better.
