Job Description Machinist – Direct Placement (La Porte, IN) Job Description This company is hiring for a skilled machinist on 1st shift. This is a job shop environment, and candidates will work on a wide range of custom parts and projects, not repetitive line work or high-volume production machining. This company focuses on the design and manufacturing of high-quality drilling equipment. We’re looking for individuals with experience on mills or lathes. Pay Range: • $26 – $32/hr.+ Shifts Available: • 1st Shift, Monday - Friday • 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM CST Responsibilities • Managing machines and the quality machining processes to increase throughput and quality • Quality checking parts to ensure they’re within tolerance • Perform machine setups to run parts • Maintain machines on a schedule • Keep environment clean and organized Qualifications: • Proficiency operating CNC machines (required) • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills (required) • Familiarity with measuring tools including calipers and micrometers • Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and make necessary program edits • Understanding of tool selection for various applications Nice-to-Have Skills (Not Required): • Experience with DMG Mori 3+2, CNC Mill • Experience with manual mill • Experience with manual lathe • Experience with MasterCAM

Position Overview: • Operate 6 or 8 spindle screw machine to fabricate parts. Load steel bars into machine, cycle machine, detect malfunctions in machine such as warn or damaged cutting tools. Run productions lots, communicate with co-workers regarding production runs and maintain safe, organized and clean work environment. Essential Job Functions • Operate one or more screw machines • Read and understand blue prints • Set up machine(s) for different parts being run and maintain acceptable setup times • Able to sharpen tools • Read micrometers and calipers • Inspect and check quality of work as directed by foreman • Maintain production efficiency • Clean and lubricate assigned machines Qualifications: • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
