CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift

Pay starts at $18 an hour and can be more with experience. A 6% shift differential is added to night shifts. Build a career at Radius Aerospace- Hot Springs! We utilize a wide range of metal forming techniques and special manufacturing processes, servicing the commercial, military, regional jet, helicopter, and general aviation markets. Position Summary Use your CNC experience in a growing aerospace manufacturing company. Manage CNC machines from setup to operation using engineer supplied instructions including blueprints and sketches. Perform different jobs on a variety of machines such as 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines. Use an assortment of machinist hand tools, measuring instruments, and other tools to produce aluminum and titanium parts for assembly. Monitor and verify quality of product according to control processes provided. May involve further training and certifications provided by the company or with tuition reimbursement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, routers, and grinders. • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required. • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications. • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. • Must be shift flexible. • Good regular attendance is an essential function of this position. • Other various duties as needed or as assigned. Education and Experience Requirements: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • 1-3 years previous conventional milling experience. • Ability to setup countersink with micro stop preferred. • Knowledge of M and G code • Familiar with FANUC Controls preferred • Basic computer proficiency including data entry into manufacturing software system • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Employee Benefits: Our employees are our most valuable asset.
