The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform the right operations. Responsibilities • Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc. • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc. • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines • Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality Requirements and skills • 3 years proven experience as CNC operator • Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach • Good communication abilities • High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus

We are looking for Machinist Technicians/Experienced Machine Operators for 2nd shift. PSD is a clean, well-lit, state-of-the-art machining center in a climate-controlled facility. Overtime opportunity may be available, after a period of training. Pratt & Whitney PSD is an FAA regulated facility, and compliance with such rules is a condition of employment. • Set-up and operate conventional, special purpose, and computerized numeric control (CNC) machines to fabricate and repair metallic and non-metallic parts. • Read blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications to determine machine and set-up requirements. • Set-up and prepare includes: set up of fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories. • Operator level maintenance of machine and set up documents. • Use measuring devices like micrometers, calipers, to ensure specifications are met. • Maintain a clean work environment. • This position is for 2nd shift. Hours are Monday-Friday, 3:00PM to 11:30PM. You will receive a shift differential when working on 2nd Shift of 8%. All new employees will train on 1st shift for the first 6-8 months. The 1st shift training hours are Monday-Friday, 6:30AM to 3:00PM.
