The Tool and Die Machinist is a key member of the Tool Room team, he is needed for the fabrication of machined components during all phases of tooling projects, research and development, and production. The machinist will machine components required for dies, molds, CNC fixtures, assembly fixtures, automation fixtures, and prototypes samples as needed. The machinist will monitor quality by taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, and adjusting and reprogramming controls while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. The machinist will achieve these tasks by using a combination of manual and programable Tool Room equipment like manual lathe, Bridgeport mill, grinding equipment, CNC equipment, and others. Responsibilities: • Operate variety of CNC and manual machines to manufacture specialty parts. • Perform quality checks on components and verify that they meet specification. • Effective communication with co-workers. • Checks completed programs by running simulations or tests. • Simplifies tooling time for workers and increases productivity for the company. • Analyzes and selects speeds and feeds of cutting tools for machining programs and wire EDM paths.
