Machine Operator

This position involves performing a variety of task that is involved with making a threaded coupling for the oil and gas industry. The position will be responsible for multiple duties contributing to the overall success of the production process. The pay for the Machine Operator role is $21/hr. Key responsibilities: • CNC Machine Operating: Operate industrial computer-controlled machines that cut metal to a specific dimension. Make adjustments to the program as needed for efficient operations. Use handheld industrial tools to change carbide cutting tools. Follow written Standard Operating Procedures for machine operation. Ability to use HDMI computer touch screens, accurately record measurements (written and electronically). Use of basic math skills for inspection calculations. Inputting of data into electronic database. • Inspection: Use of precise measuring instruments that measure in thousandth of an inch such as dial indicators, calipers etc. • Tool Usage: Use of inspection tools such as dial indicators, calipers, air powered tools, handheld wrenches, etc. May be required to operate forklifts. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Ability to read and apply Hazardous Energy Controlled Procedures. Compensation and Benefits: • Starting pay is $21.00 per hour with advancement to $22.00 per hour after qualification on certain equipment. • Quarterly Incentive Bonus Plan complements the hourly rate after completion of probationary period. • Comprehensive benefits package including Health, Dental, and Life Insurance. • 401k Plan with Company contribution. • Paid Vacation upon completion of probationary period • 10 paid Holidays. • Daily overtime pay. Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED. • Ability to work an industrial schedule consisting of 8-to-12-hour shifts Day and Night shift which include Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays. • Required overtime work. • Adherence to safety procedures/guidelines. Wearing of Personal Protective Equipment to include hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, boots with metatarsal protection, etc. • This position requires punctuality, consistent attendance, and self-direction for the success of the operations. • Physical ability to perform manual labor and repetitively lift in excess of 25 lbs. Preferred Experience: • Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction settings. • Familiarity with operating forklifts, use of detailed inspection equipment. • 1 year of experience preferred. Working Conditions: • Work is performed in a non-climate industrial environment which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and hazardous materials. • Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and is required at all times to ensure safety while performing job duties.

Job Title: Machine Operator 1 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Operations Reports to: Assistant Manager, Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE: Machine Operator 1 (MO1) is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing company railway maintenance and inspection equipment. This position can operate Loram’s on track MOW equipment and/or on track vehicles with supervision in both operating and travel modes. In this role you may be assigned to various types of equipment platforms dependent on business needs and demands. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Safety Focused • Ability to lead a comprehensive and appropriate job briefing during operations shifts, maintenance shifts, and while conducting maintenance tasks. • Consistently follows safe work processes, procedures and rules • Understands on track safety and can explain specifics when asked • Able to locate all emergency equipment and demonstrate correct operation Machine Operations and Technical Knowledge • Conducts machine inspections to identify problems, defects, changes, and hazards and communicates conditions to the operator or supervisor and performs common repairs as instructed. External: 2+ Years Demonstrated technical skills such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and machine operations. 2+ Years Demonstrated ability to learn communicate verbally and in writing and learn best practices Licenses/Certifications: Maintain Railroad Certifications, CPR/First Aid, valid Driver’s License Aurora - Minimum of 1 year computer or technology background. 1 year of working knowledge working with MS Windows. Preferred radiation experience. Commercial Driver’s License or able to obtain a Class B.
