CNC Operator (2nd Shift - 4 Day - 10 Hour Shifts)

Walther Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a CNC Operator to join our production team in Fort Smith, AR. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines. This role plays a critical part in maintaining our commitment to precision, safety, and quality in every product we manufacture. This position is for 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc. • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc. • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines • Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: • Proven experience as CNC operator • Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach • Good communication abilities • High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus

Support production by doffing, inspects, weighs, labels, and packs Mat production. Provide material handling to support production line. Salvages products from out of spec materials and ensures external quality of products salvaged. Performs general housekeeping and participates in downtime cleaning activities. Bumps up and cross trains in higher levels as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Ensure personal safety, work in a safe manner, and support team members working safely. • Ensure all customer’s expectations are met as related to role • Maintain a reliable and predictable processes • Ensure all Quality Standards are met • Participate in TPM, Total Productive Maintenance, process in plant. QUALIFICATIONS • Basic computer skills • Safety and environmental awareness • Customer focus • Good communication skills • Teamwork and rapport building skills ENVIRONMENT: • Eye and hearing protection are utilized in required areas. • The employee is exposed to heights, year around temperatures ranging from fifty to one hundred and ten degrees and moisture. • Air-Conditioned Control Rooms are available for operators • Exposure to materials associated with fiberglass products such as binder and glass fibers. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Lift/carry/move up to 50 lbs. independently and heavier weights with assistance. • Climb stairs, steps, and ladders, as well as work at heights on equipment, platforms, and walkways. • Perform bending, squatting, kneeling, leaning, and reaching at both ground level and overhead. • Ability to work extended hours as necessary • Ability to work rotational 12 hour schedule; Every 28 Days rotate between days/nights. • Able to Operate Computers & Computerized equipment for quality, safety and compliance testing and training. • Communicate with co-workers face to face, by telephone, and electronic communications. • Able to give and understand instructions and hold conversations in manufacturing environment, as well as an office or classroom setting. • Possess manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment, operate a computer and other standard office equipment. • Vision adequate to manipulate equipment controls, complete paperwork, utilize computers, and have depth perception.
