Machinist Job Responsibilities: • Operate, program, and maintain CNC lathe and milling machines • Review drawings, instructions, blueprints, and samples to ensure accurate production • Taking precision measurements to ensure the final product to QC • Selects the appropriate machine and settings for the given task • Plan a proper sequence of the tasks to complete the assignment • Monitor production feed adjustments and other settings as necessary • Maintains the raw material inventory • Checks output for quality assurance, documents defects, controls waste • Identifies the need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs • Maintains a safe and clean workstation • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing the related task • Ability to read blueprints and drawings Benefits – Company subsidized health insurance, 401(k) plan with employer match, paid vacation, and opportunities for continuing education. These CNC Machines include Burn Table, Angle/Beam Line, Wheel-a-brator and Coper. • Load CAD drawn CNC programs with job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. • Observes machine operation to detect defects or machine malfunction. • Load and unload structural steel from machine with overhead crane. • Remove burrs from parts. Clear scrap shavings and debris from machine when required. • Package parts for delivery or pick up. • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required. CNC Machine Operator Qualifications: • High school education or equivalent. • Minimum of three months’ related experience and/or training. • Ability to read and understand detailed shop drawings. • Ability to perform basic math functions. • Good oral/written communication skills. • Basic computer skills. CNC Machine Operator Physical Demands: • Ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs. frequently • Considerable amounts of standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. • Exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. • Exposed to temperature fluctuations and a noisy work environment.
