Job Purpose This position is responsible for producing steel products for weldments. Essential Functions: • Operates vertical and horizontal CNC machines to include a boring mill. • Use of CNC Programming- G Code, Conversational, and Mastercam • Successfully sets up parts and tools to start machine setup. • Uses different measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauge, etc. • Safe operation of heavy equipment including overhead hoists and lift assist equipment. • Actively participate in safety programs to promote the goal of zero incidents and injuries. • Maintains all aspects of workplace organization. • Provides clear and consistent communication on all activities to appropriate individuals. Router table operators are responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining their machines. Job Duties and Responsibilities Operate router tables and cut boats to meet variable production goals. Program routers by accessing the proper programs. Initiate startup sequences, set plate heights and max depths, and set proper “homes” on machines. Know how to read calipers for measuring plate thickness and use a tape measure frequently. Work with the engineering department when troubleshooting issues with machines and/or nesting/parts programs. Operate shear. Certified in forklift and crane operation. Assist in offloading trucks when metal deliveries occur. Clear parts off router tables and organize them on racks appropriately. Assist in hull bending operations. Keep the department clean and organized. Use overhead crane for material handling onto routers. Perform tool changing operations on tables and maintenance on machines. Understand basic functions of a computer (windows OS). Able to cut all boat models unsupervised. Know all table planing procedures and MDF board swaps, all hull cutting procedures, and all basic functions of router tables. Troubleshoot tables when something goes wrong. Do tool cleaning and tool changing procedures. Attention to detail on material size, and thickness. Work under stress without messing up in a fast paced, repetitive environment. Able to lift heavy parts off of tables and while bending hulls, including press brake tooling. Read work orders to cut correct nests for each boat. Load and unload parts carts and push them around the factory. Prioritize all machine downtime and order of cutting nests to maximize production. Required Skills Exhibit trustworthiness and honesty.
