Job Purpose This position is responsible for producing steel products for weldments. Essential Functions: • Operates vertical and horizontal CNC machines to include a boring mill. • Use of CNC Programming- G Code, Conversational, and Mastercam • Successfully sets up parts and tools to start machine setup. • Uses different measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauge, etc. • Safe operation of heavy equipment including overhead hoists and lift assist equipment. • Actively participate in safety programs to promote the goal of zero incidents and injuries. • Maintains all aspects of workplace organization. • Provides clear and consistent communication on all activities to appropriate individuals. Qualifications Guidelines Experience/Training/Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years’ related experience. Desired: 1-2 year vocational technology diploma/ certificate and/ or 2+ years’ experience working in a machine shop. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and work rules/ procedures. • Knowledge and understanding of applicable operating procedures and material flow. • Basic math knowledge (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions). • Ability to read blueprints and decipher machine notes/ symbols. Physical and Environmental Elements: This is a production classification and employees work in a factory or warehouse environment with exposure to noise and machinery. The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/ cold, wet/humid, and dry/ arid conditions.
