The ideal candidate will be responsible for: • Performing repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services on vehicles and equipment. • Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems. • Utilizing vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs. • Conducting safety checks on vehicles and equipment. • Completing required paperwork using fleet maintenance software. • Reviewing and completing or assigning repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. The successful candidate will have: • Personal tools and proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair. • The ability to read and comprehend service and technical information. Required Skills and Qualifications: The following skills and qualifications are necessary for this role: • Extensive experience as a mechanic. • Knowledge of Change Management principles. • Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment. • Proficiency in brake repair and diesel engine repair. • Experience working with tanker trailers. • Strong mechanical knowledge and vehicle maintenance skills. • Ability to diagnose and repair air brake and automotive diagnostic issues. • Understanding of hydraulics and quality management principles. Requirements • Production experience a plus. • Some computer skills needed. • Attention to detail and organizational skills needed. • Must be able to handle repetitive motion of placing metal castings into a fixture and then removing it and then place it into a basket. • Must be able to operate small handheld tools on a regular basis. • Must be able to visually inspect machined parts as well as gauge them utilizing several types of hand-held gauges. • Must be available to work overtime hours on a shift or mandatory Saturday overtime. Physical Requirements • Must be 18 years of age or older. • Must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs. several times a day. • Must be able to stand for the vast majority of the shift. • Must be able to perform manual work in a non-climate-controlled factory setting. Shift Details Weekend 1st shift is Fri, Sat, Sun, 3 12-hr shifts, 6:45am - 6:45pm. • Weekend shift works 36 hours, paid for 40 hours. No overtime available.
