Decatur Diamond, LLC, a leading manufacturer of diamond-based tooling, is seeking a Machine Operator for 1st shift or 2nd shift for our production facility located in Decatur, IN. This person will be responsible for set-up and operation of production machinery. 1st Shift Machine Operator - The hours for the first shift position will be 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. 2nd Shift Machine Operator - The 2nd shift position will work four 10-hour days per week. The hours for the 2nd shift position will be 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday. There will be a training period required during the 1st shift hours for the 2nd shift position. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, capable of using measuring tools, calipers, micrometers, etc. Trade school or prior machining experience is preferred but we will train the right individual. Responsibilities for Machine Operator • Set up machinery for operation • Start machinery and make adjustments to machinery when necessary to improve performance • Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions • Troubleshoot issues and perform daily maintenance • Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to the supervisor • Comply with all safety and health regulations • Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area Qualifications for Machine Operator • High School Diploma or GED • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience is preferred but will train the right individual. • Must be detail-oriented • Understanding of production and plant processes • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Products, Outlook, Excel, and Word • Good Math Skills • Ability to follow written and oral instructions • Ability to work in a team
