POSITION OVERVIEW: The Machinist Level One is an entry-level Machinist on the Alliance team. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for operating basic machinery, assisting in setup tasks, performing quality checks, maintaining a clean workspace, and adhering to safety protocols. Your primary goal will be to ensure efficient and accurate machining operations while maintaining a safe work environment. TOP 5 RESPONSIBILITIES: • Operate basic machinery, including lathes, mills, and grinders • Assist in setting up tools and equipment for machining activities • Conduct fundamental quality checks on finished products • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of machines and ensure that the work area remains tidy • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure that you wear the appropriate protective gear ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: • Equipment maintenance and repair • Basic process flow for production machining • Follow technical specifications and blueprints to achieve precision machining • Ensure tools are properly calibrated and ready for use • Report any discrepancies or defects to the supervisor for corrective action • Maintain an organized work area to prevent accidents and ensure efficiency • Wear the appropriate protective gear to ensure personal and workplace safety MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: • High school diploma or Vocational school equivalent • Basic knowledge of machining equipment and tools • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment • Willingness to learn and follow instructions • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • This position may require constant standing and frequent walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, and twisting • Working in the machine shop requires constant cervical flexion and chin-chest movement. The maximum lifting weight is about 50 lbs., the maximum carrying weight is about 30 lbs., and the maximum pushing and pulling weight can reach 100-150 lbs. • Frequent forward and lateral reach may be required, as well as frequent grasping and handling.
