HVAC Supervisor

The HVAC Supervisor directs the maintenance team throughout their daily schedule and performs a variety of routine and skilled tasks, repairs and diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on facility HVAC equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Diagnoses and troubleshoots complex HVAC system issues, identifies root causes, and implements effective solutions. • Leads and supervises HVAC Technicians and HVAC Apprentices, provides technical guidance, and trains new hires on best practices and safety procedures. • Orders, manages, and stocks HVAC parts and supplies. May be required to pick up parts locally. • Maintains accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and installations, including work orders, time sheets, material costs, and warranties to ensure they are honored by supplier. • Ensures compliance with state required HVAC laws and regulations. • Follows written and oral instructions given by managers. • Proactively Performs preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Driving for optimum performance. • Continues education related to HVAC and building automation systems. • Works independently on routine recurring assignments • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with fellow employees. • Learns and performs assigned tasks quickly and correctly through on-the-job training and learns safety regulations and practices safety precautions. • Reads and interprets blueprints, machine manuals, and schematic drawings to assist in HVAC and BAS repairs. • Comprehends written materials. • Uses Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety procedures, and appropriate equipment in completing assignments. • Assists with interviewing, hiring, reviews, and corrective action for all HVAC personnel. • Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications • Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check. • Must be able to communicate with GDF Team effectively and professionally. • Experience with electrical, HVAC systems, and refrigeration systems. • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems. • Knowledge of basic machine operations. • Knowledge of three-phase motors and controls up to 480 volts. • Knowledge and proper use of hand tools. • Ability to perform manual labor outdoors in temperature extremes for extended periods of time. • Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Must be a team player with a “can do” attitude. • Available to work weekends and holidays as needed. • Reliable transportation. Education Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent required • Post-secondary trade or vocational school preferred; equivalent experience considered in lieu of formal education preferred. • Licensed in Commercial HVAC/R.
