About the Role: We are seeking an experienced HVAC Journeyman, Technician, Installer or Fabricator with a background in commercial mechanical, HVAC equipment fabrication, installation and repair. The ideal candidate should be able to design, fabricate, install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems with minimal guidance and oversight. In addition, they should have a track record of working new technology, and have a creative mindset towards failing fast and moving forward. The role will include shop fabrication and prototyping of unique, proprietary components, subassemblies and complete systems. A curious and creative mindset combined with a sound understanding of mechanical system design and operation will be beneficial as you develop new products through iterative prototyping and testing. Field service, and travel to customer facing jobsite visits at large facilities and mechanical rooms, will be part of the estimating, installation and commissioning process you will be responsible for. Responsibilities: • Apply expert knowledge of commercial HVAC systems in various installation, repair, and maintenance projects, focusing on energy-efficient and indoor air quality solutions • Must have a broad knowledge base of all types of commercial mechanical systems, especially air-side products, economizers, energy recovery equipment and ventilation control strategies • Perform regular maintenance on our HVAC-connected products and platforms to ensure optimal performance • Assist in the planning, designing, and implementation of the Carbon Capsule within existing and new installations • Familiarity with DDC systems and components is required, experience with a wide variety of front ends, PLCs and controls languages is a plus • Provide estimates of materials required and ensure appropriate inventory for Carbon Capsule maintenance and installation • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, senior leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget • Read blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams related to HVAC systems and Carbon Capsule integration • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives, providing ongoing support and education on Carbon Capsule systems • Use data and customer feedback to improve product designs and installation processes • Safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines • Identify situations that require escalation to supervisors or managers for guidance or additional support • Participate in all required safety training and actively carry all state or national required licensing Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; additional HVAC certification or degree preferred • At least 4 years of hands-on experience in the HVAC industry • Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, low voltage controls systems and installation • Experience working with commercial Building Management Systems • Experience with DOAS HVAC systems and carbon capture technologies is a plus • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more • Capability to stand, crawl, sit, and squat for extended periods of time • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Must be able to work independently in the field and be responsible for a company vehicle at jobsites Benefits: • Medical, dental, vision • Flexible work schedule • Generous paid time off, vacation, parental leave policies Carbon Reform is an Equal Opportunity Employer and embraces diversity in our employee population. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES • Installs, operates, maintains, tests, and overhauls heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment, oil and gas fired burners, low pressure steam, high temperature hot water and warm air heating units, related accessories and components. • Inspects visually, disassembles, cleans, replaces and repairs, installs, lubricates, and tests all HVAC equipment and related parts, components and controls including oil and gas burners, steam and water boilers, warm air units, pipe and fitting and pumps. • Locates trouble in electrical, electronic and pneumatic controls and diagnoses by various testing devices; repairs all electrical trouble as required. • Manufactures, installs and repairs various HVAC equipment such as bushings, bearings, pulleys, gears, belts, controls, chains, rollers, fixtures, brackets, etc. ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years training at an accredited Technical School or equivalent. In lieu of technical school training, five (5) years practical experience in a related field may be substituted. • Must have experience in the installation, operation, maintenance, testing and repair of low pressure steam, high temperature hot water, warm air heating units, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including electrical, mechanical , electronic and pneumatic components related to HVAC systems. • Must have knowledge of regulatory agency codes and requirements. • Must satisfactorily complete qualifications test and performance tests as required. • Will be required to obtain CDL driver's license. • Will be required to possess or obtain hand tools as designated by the position's tool list.
