Responsibilities for the HVAC Service Technician: • Perform maintenance, and repair of residential HVAC systems, encompassing heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment. • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems, pinpointing the root cause of malfunctions and proposing effective solutions. • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to uphold optimal system performance and prevent potential problems. • Install, repair, or replace various components, including compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, filters, and ductwork. • Interact with customers professionally and courteously, addressing their concerns, explaining repair options, and suggesting system improvements. • Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, detailing equipment status, repairs conducted, parts utilized, and time allocated for each job. • Remain informed about industry advancements, best practices, and emerging technologies to continually enhance technical expertise and knowledge. Requirements for the HVAC Service Technician: • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in residential HVAC systems. • Associate degree from 2-year college or Technical School preferred. • A valid EPA Universal certification REQUIRED. • OSHA, NATE or CFC certifications are a plus. • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing residential HVAC systems with strong technical skills. • Solid knowledge of HVAC codes, regulations, and safety standards. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Ability to work in various settings, including attics and crawl spaces. • Physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds • Maintain a clean driving record. • Ability to successfully pass a background check. Job Summary The HVAC Specialist manages and maintains all SHI HVAC systems and BMS (Building Management System) in NJ and PA. They provide support to SHI employees, as required, and ensure SHI’s operations remain online at all times. They work directly with vendors and partners to manage maintenance and repairs. The HVAC Specialist needs to be available to respond to emergencies 24/7/365. This position reports to the Facilities Manager and is performed at SHI’s NJ/PA office locations. The estimated on-target earnings, or OTE, which includes a base salary, are $55,000 - $75,000.
